Discriminatory Abuse

Discrimination is something the majority of us are aware of, the most common of which are racism, homophobia and religion. But in reality, any time someone says something derogatory about who you are, what you believe or how you choose to live you life, it is discrmination. 

Discriminatory abuse includes: 

Forms of harrassment, slurs or similar treatment because of;

  • race

  • gender

  • gender identity

  • age

  • disability

  • sexual orientation

  • religion

Discriminatory abuse can take the form of:

  • derogatory comments
  • harassment
  • being made to move to a different resource/service based on age
  • being denied medical treatment on grounds of age or mental health
  • and/or not providing access.
