Residents and staff of Encompass’s Rawleigh House were pleasantly surprised recently by a brilliant turn out at their summer fête. Far more people turned up than expected over the course of the day to support the inaugural event.
The summer fête offered a great opportunity to catch up with friends over a tea or coffee, and sample some of the fine cakes on offer (and unfortunately some not so fine quiche!).
A variety of activities were available on the day, which included a raffle with some superb prizes, a jumble sale, and guess the number of sweets in the jar. The activities were very well received and a remarkable grand total of £454 was raised across all the stalls. The money raised will go towards the development of a sensory garden in the grounds of Rawleigh House which will benefit the residents.
Simon Fox, Home Manager at Rawleigh House, would like to thank the residents for allowing their home and garden to be used for this event. Mr Fox would also like to extend a huge thank you to all his fantastic staff and their families who gave their time so generously in order to make the event such a big success.
Thanks should also be extended to all the wonderful local businesses and individuals in the local community who contributed the generous raffle prizes. Without these kind donations the day would not have been the success that it was.
Finally, a huge thanks goes out to all those whose attended the summer fête and spent their money with us. With your kind support our sensory garden can be developed as planned.
Following the success of this year’s summer fête it is hoped that the event can be repeated each summer, with similarly spectacular results.
